Kinstugi

also known as kintsukuroi (金繕い, "golden repair"). is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.

Art of Healing Scars

With this technique it’s possible to create true and always different works of art, each with its own story and beauty, thanks to the unique cracks formed when the object breaks, as if they were wounds that leave different marks on each of us.

Lessons for life

The kintsugi technique suggests many things. We shouldn’t throw away broken objects. When an object breaks, it doesn’t mean that it is no more useful. Its breakages can become valuable. We should try to repair things because sometimes in doing so we obtain more valuable objects. This is the essence of resilience. Each of us should look for a way to cope with traumatic events in a positive way, learn from negative experiences, take the best from them and convince ourselves that exactly these experiences make each person unique, precious.

Fascia Work and Sensi Graves

As a professional athlete, Sensi utilizes her body on the water and can experience some hard crashes. She started getting more fascia treatment, you can see Dr. Call’s experience with treatment on his bio page. His work has helped her with soreness and to help open up her range of motion. Sensi is a professional kiteboarder, swimwear designer, entrepreneur, writer and kiteboarding coach. In 2007, Sensi tentatively signed up for a kiteboarding lesson in North Carolina’s Outer Banks and immediately fell in love. Just two years later, she applied to be a kiteboarding coach, relocated to the East Coast, and started collecting accolades. The Hood River, Oregon, local regularly places in the top three at some of the biggest international kiteboarding invitationals, garners continuous coverage in kiteboarding magazines, and even launched her eponymous swimwear label, Sensi Graves Bikinis, to meet the demands of her sport (after losing one too many string bikinis in the surf, she decided to tackle the job herself and design suits that actually stay on in rough conditions). Her mission: empower women in watersports by giving them the confidence they need and the swimwear they can rely on. Sensi also hosts women’s kiteboarding retreats worldwide, to build community for female kiteboarders and foster progression in the sport. Sensi has been featured in countless online and print publications including: The Kiteboarder Magazine, Kiteworld, IKSURF Mag, The Kite Mag, Kite Spain, Barefootkings.com, Womenwhohustle.com, Stillstoked.com, and kitesista.com. She has been nominated for AWSI kiteboarder of the year for the last four years and in 2017 ranked 3rd on the Kite Park League World Tour. Her bikini line has been recognized by Self Magazine as a top suit for sports and is the winner of the 2017 SELF Healthy Living Awards. Sensi Graves Bikinis has also been featured in SUP the Mag, on Outsideonline, Grindtv.com, ESPNW.com and on Goldfishkiss.com among others.
